Bamboo as a Method was an ambitious, site-specific exhibition curated by Jo Wei, organised by Gallery Weekend Beijing, designed by Junyu Wen, set across forest, water, and expansive indoor and outdoor spaces. The project presented unique challenges related to electricity, waterproofing, and the safety and stability of artworks in dynamic environments, requiring careful planning and adaptive problem-solving on-site.

The studio coordinated closely with curators, artists, and installation teams, establishing clear workflows that allowed complex installations to be executed efficiently and safely. Each artwork was strategically placed to interact with its surroundings, taking advantage of natural light, vegetation, and topography to create immersive, contemplative experiences for visitors.

During installation, we managed unpredictable logistical and environmental challenges, ensuring that each piece was presented with integrity and safety while maintaining the conceptual and spatial vision of the exhibition. The result was a seamless integration of art and environment, where audiences could engage with works in dialogue with the natural and constructed landscape.

Bamboo as a Method highlights our expertise in site-specific exhibition design, combining technical precision, creative problem-solving, and spatial storytelling to deliver immersive outdoor experiences that respect both the artworks and their surrounding environment.
